GENERAL INFO--
--This guy is an OC named Shai. Feel free to ignore any tags or whatever if that's not your cup of tea.
--He lives in Sinnoh and mostly farms for a living. Though, the majority of his relatives are in Johto, and he's been on a trainer's journey before.
--As a competitive trainer, he's never been too great. He only obtained one badge before getting sidetracked. His 'mons are only moderately tough at best, so any endgame characters shouldn't have much trouble if they battle him.
--Looks-wise, he's a young man with pink hair and clothing that isn't particularly interesting. Since his eyesight is pretty bad, he sometimes wears reading glasses. On top of that, he can't see out of his right eye at all hardly, so he'll often have a black patch over it when he's out and about.
--In general, Shai's friendly to almost everyone he meets, though he's just a little awkward around people (but not so much with Pokemon). Being a random resident of the Pokeworld, he's perfectly happy to offer the best hospitality he can give to any trainer who walks in his door, or any random stranger asking around for information.
--He hasn't had many friends, and tends to be a little overaffectionate to the few he has. His Pokemon are a bit spoiled. It takes a lot to make him angry, as he prefers to give people the benefit of doubt or just flat out ignore them if they're beginning to bother him. Most of the time, he's oddly tolerant towards shady people and activities so long as they don't bother him directly.

--Combee (x2)
A pair of busy bug types who work more than anyone else in the family. They're cheerful and easy to please, if a bit empty-headed. Shai came up with names for all six of them, but none will answer to anything but "Combee". They collect their own honey, and help Teddiursa with its creations, too.
Apparently, they're related to Shai's "starter", a Vespiquen who isn't around any more.
--Shuckle
A bug type who is rather more sly than the other two in the team, though it doesn't often show it. It generally prefers to just to lay around all day and turn a steady supply of various berries into juice and candies. It's kind enough to share, if asked, but keeps the bigger portion for itself. Despite its laid-back habits, it's probably its trainer's strongest Pokemon in battle.
Shai received it from some distant relatives.
--Teddiursa
A spoiled little normal type who gets a bit huffy if it feels ignored or doesn't get suitable rewards for its efforts. It's possibly the most helpful Pokemon in the family, however, as it assists Shai with all kinds of things. Such as cooking. Everything it makes seems to end up fruity or sweet, thanks to the other 'mons being eager to "help" by providing ingredients, but that's preferable to the noxious creations its trainer comes up with when allowed into the kitchen. It hoards both hard candies and small (non-shiny) trinkets.
Shai caught it himself during a brief stay in Johto.
--Murkrow
A troublesome dark type who is responsible for the injury that left Shai nearly blind in one eye. And for Teddiursa not being able to keep anything shiny. And for occasional missing berries. And also Shai's lack of friends. In general, it's been nothing but a terrible, terrible influence on everyone living with it. It was born in the Lost Tower, and used to get into frequent scuffles with the boy who eventually caught it years later. Now, rather than target its trainer, it harasses anyone who starts getting too close to him. It has a collection of shiny prizes snatched from would-be guests, unfortunate passerbys, and its own housemates.
If asked, Shai refers to Murkrow as a "childhood friend".
